Job description

About the Role

We seek an experienced Java Developer based in Mumbai (Bandra) to work onsite five days a week. The candidate will utilize strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Microservices, cloud platforms, and data structures & algorithms to build scalable and efficient backend services within a modern microservices environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications aligned with project requirements.
  • Create robust backend services and RESTful APIs leveraging Java and Spring Boot technologies.
  • Develop and manage applications based on microservices architecture.
  • Interact with databases using Hibernate/JPA for efficient ORM operations.
  • Apply expert knowledge of Core Java, object-oriented programming, collections, multithreading, exception handling, and Java 8+ features.
  • Implement optimized code employing appropriate data structures and algorithms.
  • Integrate applications with relational databases and perform query optimization as needed.
  • Operate with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Engage in design discussions, code reviews, debugging, performance enhancements, and resolving production issues.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, QA, and other development teams.
  • Adhere to coding standards, design principles, continuous integration/deployment processes, and Agile methodologies.

Mandatory Skills

  • Proficient hands-on experience in Java and Core Java fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of Spring Boot framework.
  • Expertise in Hibernate and JPA for ORM and database interactions.
  • Experience implementing microservices-based architectures.
  • Familiarity with building RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms fundamentals.
  • Good grasp of SQL and relational database systems.
  • Experience working with any major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, Java collections framework, multithreading, exception management, and features of Java 8+.
  • Strong debugging capabilities and effective problem-solving skills.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Experience with message brokers like Kafka or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Understanding of design patterns and system design principles.
  • Exposure to Agile or Scrum development methodologies.

Work Conditions and Interview Process

  • Position requires working onsite from the Bandra office in Mumbai, five days a week.
  • Interview involves two stages: an initial virtual technical round (L1) followed by an in-person face-to-face interview (L2).

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates are hands-on Java developers possessing substantial backend development experience and problem-solving aptitude. Experience building Spring Boot microservices deployed on cloud platforms and working knowledge of data structures is essential.
