Full Stack Developer

About the role

Star Phones Australia is seeking a capable and proactive Full Stack Developer to support the next phase of its digital growth. With 55 stores across the country, the business is a major mobile phone accessories and repair retailer, and this role will help strengthen its websites, eCommerce platforms, integrations, automation tools, and wider digital infrastructure.

The position suits someone who is comfortable working independently, approaching problems creatively, and delivering practical, scalable solutions with limited oversight.

Key work areas

• Maintaining and improving company websites and eCommerce platforms
• Building API integrations and workflow automation
• Supporting inventory synchronisation between systems
• Developing internal business applications
• Assisting with cloud setup, deployment, and infrastructure tasks
• Creating AI-enabled business tools and automation solutions

Technical areas involved

This position covers frontend development, backend development, database work, cloud and DevOps practices, and eCommerce/CMS systems.

• Frontend technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and responsive UI design
• Backend tools and concepts such as Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs, authentication and authorization, API security, webhooks, and scheduled/background jobs
• Data systems including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, database modelling, and query performance tuning
• Cloud and deployment platforms including AWS, Railway, Vercel, Netlify, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
• E-commerce and CMS platforms including MedusaJS, Stripe, product catalog management, inventory synchronisation, and Strapi
• Optional advanced areas such as AI applications, OpenAI APIs, AI agents and automation, machine learning, and retail technology
