Job description
About the Role
This permanent full-time position starts in Term 3, 2026, at the WA College of Agriculture (WACOA) – Morawa. The college is situated in Morawa, Western Australia, approximately 100 km from the coast and 1.5 hours from Geraldton's city amenities. The small class sizes provide a flexible work environment catering to the specific needs of each student.
The First Cook will collaboratively prepare large quantities of nutritious meals daily, including occasional catering for special events. Working efficiently both independently and within a team is essential, alongside planning and coordinating to ensure meal readiness.
As a key kitchen team member, you will assist the College Chef and other staff in ordering supplies, meal planning, and maintaining hygiene standards in compliance with public health and safety. You will also step into a coordinating role during the Chef’s absence. Commercial cookery qualifications or equivalent experience are strongly preferred.
Additional Information
Visit the Morawa local government website for community info and the college websites for further details. For queries about the position, contact Jasmine Porter, Residential Hostel Manager, at (08) 9971 4620 or via email.
