With an annual gross merchandise value surpassing 100 crore INR, Aramya operates multiple brands such as Aramya (daily wear), Tavira by Aramya (festive wear), and is developing a new brand launching in the second half of 2026. The retail presence currently includes 14 stores in Bengaluru, with upcoming stores planned in Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai.
Role Overview
The Finance Associate focused on Payroll will be responsible for managing the entire monthly payroll cycle at Aramya, prioritizing zero errors and ensuring timely execution for all employees. This critical position requires strict adherence to Indian statutory compliances and positions the associate as the primary contact for employee salary-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive monthly payroll processing, accounting for attendance, leaves, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Update and maintain payroll master data including new hires, exits, salary changes, transfers, and promotions.
- Ensure timely disbursement of salaries, final settlements, and reimbursements; coordinate with banking partners for payment processing.
- Respond to employee questions regarding salary payments, tax deductions, payslip details, and issuance of Form 16.
- Handle statutory obligations related to EPF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, Gratuity, and Bonus Act by ensuring prompt payments and timely return filings.
- Calculate and reconcile Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on salaries, liaising with Finance teams for Form 16 issuance, quarterly return submissions, and annual reconciliations.
- Keep updated on changes in labour laws and tax regulations, adapting payroll processes accordingly.
- Prepare detailed payroll management information system (MIS) reports, headcount cost analyses, salary registers, and identify payroll variances.
- Support internal and statutory audits by providing accurate reconciliations and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with HRMS and payroll software vendors to ensure system updates, maintain data accuracy, and implement automation where possible.
- Maintain strict internal controls, safeguard employee data confidentiality, and uphold payroll governance standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on payroll management experience for medium to large teams (500+ employees).
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, HR, or related fields; MBA or PGDM in HR or Finance is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Indian payroll laws including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus Act, and TDS regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll or HRMS platforms such as Keka, Darwinbox, GreytHR, SAP, or ADP.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formula usage for data reconciliation and reporting.
- Exceptional attention to detail, maintaining accuracy within stringent monthly deadlines.
- Unwavering integrity in managing confidential employee information.
- Additional advantage for candidates with experience managing payroll for over 1,000 employees.
