About the Role

We focus on individuals seeking to redirect and grow professionally, especially for careers requiring specialized knowledge. During your retraining, you'll receive a competitive salary. Following this transition, you will collaborate equally with your colleagues.

As a Train Traffic Controller, you'll operate in signal boxes directing train movements to ensure safe, timely, and smooth railway operations.

Retraining Program

  • This full-time program (39 hours per week) incorporates both theoretical and practical training segments.
  • The theoretical portion takes place in our regional training center located in Hannover, while practical assignments are arranged near your residence whenever feasible.
  • Training classes usually consist of approximately 12 participants.

Post-Retraining Duties

  • Manage train traffic control on small to large signal boxes using levers, push-buttons, and rotary switches.
  • Set routes including paths, switches, and signals to secure safe train departures, such as exiting a station.
  • Monitor station operations attentively.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with team members in the signal box, train drivers, and control centers.

Candidate Profile

  • Completed recognized vocational training in Germany (e.g., retail clerk, restaurant specialist, office clerk), or
  • General or specialized high school diploma combined with at least two years of professional experience or proof of at least four semesters of university studies.
  • Proficiency in German at a minimum C1 language level.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Team-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Willingness to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, balanced with personal work-life harmony.
