Role Overview

As an Applied Machine Learning Engineer on the Applied ML team, you will collaborate directly with clients to identify their most pressing issues and craft effective AI-driven solutions using Large Language Models. You will leverage creativity, problem-solving, and technical expertise to bridge the final gap in enterprise AI usage, delivering impactful products akin to pioneering startup CTOs and CEOs, influencing significant sectors worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage extensive projects from conception through to production deployment.
• Facilitate cross-functional coordination among engineering, product management, and other teams.
• Guide and mentor a distributed engineering team in domain expertise.
• Detect limitations and opportunities within current AI models and strategize future development efforts.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to develop tailored solutions.
• Participate in partnerships with external organizations.
• Support legal teams in patent documentation related to developed intellectual property.
• Contribute to shaping the company’s products and wear multiple hats as needed during a pivotal growth phase.

Candidate Profile

• Experience leading machine learning teams focused on applied research and production environments.
• Proven ability to define and execute technical roadmaps for new or enhancing existing ML products.
• History of collaborating across multi-disciplinary and matrix-structured organizations.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks such as Tensorflow, TF-Serving, JAX, and XLA/MLIR.
• Experience working with large-scale distributed training and inference systems.
• Strong mentorship, communication, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• A deep passion for applied machine learning and product-focused development.
• Bonus: Previous work experience in ML-focused B2B companies.
