Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cloud DevOps Engineer to join a client team based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This role entails designing and maintaining efficient CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure as code, and developing scalable cloud solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The position involves integrating cloud services with enterprise systems, building self-service provisioning tools, and adhering to cloud security and configuration management best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and sustain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD to automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager to provision and manage GCP resources, creating reusable modules and templates to ensure consistent infrastructure setups.
- Architect and implement scalable cloud solutions leveraging core GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) following best practices.
- Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Go to automate routine tasks, system integrations, and enable self-service capabilities.
- Integrate cloud platforms with enterprise systems such as approval engines, change management, asset management, DNS, and security/compliance tools, utilizing APIs and web services.
- Apply configuration management strategies and tools, maintain CMDB systems, and automate updates based on cloud resource usage.
- Devise and implement solutions for cloud resource discovery, monitoring, and logging to efficiently track utilization and performance.
- Create user-friendly self-service portals for service requests and cloud resource provisioning.
- Ensure the application of cloud security best practices, implement appropriate security controls, and maintain compliance with policy requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles with significant focus on Google Cloud Platform.
- Proven expertise in designing and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Comprehensive understanding of GCP services and cloud architecture principles.
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tool development.
- Experience integrating cloud systems with enterprise software and knowledge of APIs/Web services.
- Familiarity with configuration management, CMDB systems, and infrastructure monitoring/logging tools.
- Capability to develop and maintain self-service portals.
- Deep knowledge of cloud security concepts and implementation.
Certifications
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer Certification
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer Certification
- Any other Google professional certification is advantageous
