Network Engineer

Role overview

This is a remote, hourly contract opportunity based in Canada. The expected workload is around 30 to 40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Examine live network data from sources such as logs, configuration files, telemetry, and event streams.
• Identify and categorize network patterns, incidents, and unusual behavior.
• Assist in defining data schemas and organizing structures for large-scale pipeline development.
• Work with time-series measurements and network events to ensure accurate labeling and annotation.
• Coordinate directly with client-side teams on infrastructure-related tasks and data processes.
• Support the creation of datasets used for AI-based autonomous networking solutions.

What the client is looking for

• Hands-on background in enterprise network engineering.
• Practical experience with networking hardware and systems such as switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
• Ability to make sense of logs, events, and time-series performance data.
