Job description
Role Overview
The Contract Manager will oversee all stages of contract management, ensuring each contract—from drafting through negotiation to closure—is handled proficiently. This includes working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders to guarantee business requirements and commercial terms are accurately captured.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete contract lifecycle including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, executing, renewing, amending, and closing contracts.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to confirm contracts meet business needs and mutually agreed commercial conditions.
- Evaluate contractual terms such as obligations, deliverables, schedules, pricing, and risk factors to detect issues and enforce necessary controls.
- Assist in contract negotiations, offering sound advice to safeguard business interests while fostering positive commercial relationships.
- Track contract performance, critical milestones, renewal dates, compliance status, and deliverables.
- Maintain comprehensive and well-organized contract documentation, approvals, and related communications.
- Monitor contractual duties and actively follow up with stakeholders on pending actions, deadlines, and commitments.
- Identify and escalate significant contractual, commercial, and operational risks.
- Prepare detailed contract summaries, reports, and updates to aid governance and decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with legal, procurement, finance, sales, operations, and other departments to efficiently resolve contract-related matters.
- Contribute to refining contract management procedures, policies, templates, and internal controls.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Procurement, or related fields.
- Solid knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, obligations, and risk management techniques.
- Excellent skills in negotiation, communication, and managing stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple contracts and deadlines effectively.
- Good understanding of commercial business operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel; familiarity with contract management software is beneficial.
- Capability to interpret complex contract data and effectively communicate key points to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrates integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and sound professional judgment.
- Self-driven, detail-focused, and goal-oriented, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
