CNC Programmer

Role Overview

An experienced CNC Programmer is needed to join a busy manufacturing operation in Waterford, County Waterford, Ireland. The position centers on creating, refining, and improving CNC programs to help deliver efficient output and strong product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, evaluate, and fine-tune CNC programs in SolidCAM to support production needs.
• Handle machining work across multiple processes, including 3-axis and 5-axis milling, mill-turn equipment, and sliding head / Swiss-type lathes.
• Lead improvement efforts aimed at reducing cycle times and boosting process efficiency.
• Investigate machining problems and put effective corrective measures in place.
• Partner with production and quality teams to ensure manufacturing output meets required standards.
• Assist with new product introductions and process validation when needed.

Experience and Skills Required

• At least 5 years of background in CNC machining and programming.
• Practical, hands-on experience with CAM software, preferably SolidCAM.
• Solid exposure to milling and mill-turn operations.
• Prior knowledge of sliding head / Swiss-type machining is an advantage.
• Strong analytical ability with a focus on improving machining performance.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different teams.
