Cafe Team Leader

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Cafe Team Leader to join one of our fast-paced café locations, where you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service. This role offers diverse responsibilities including supporting the Cafe Manager, coaching and developing team members, and ensuring smooth daily operations. You will help meet business and financial goals, champion health and safety standards, and foster an inclusive and supportive work environment that values each individual.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure seamless daily operations by upholding operational and safety standards.
• Maintain compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Lead by example, providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Manage opening and closing procedures and oversee the café in the absence of the Manager.
• Recognize and celebrate team members who deliver excellent service.
• Master the menu and assist team members in understanding it thoroughly.
• Maximize sales by optimal team deployment and efficient task management.
• Provide Health & Safety and Food Safety training for team members.
• Support coaching and development initiatives alongside the Cafe Manager.
• Continuously seek improvements to enhance customer service quality.
• Promote a workplace culture that is inclusive, respectful, and safe for all colleagues.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in hospitality with prior Team or Shift Leader roles.
• Strong passion for delivering excellent customer service.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
• Effective communication abilities.
• Capability to multitask and adjust to shifting priorities.
• Initiative to identify and implement improvements in work processes.
