Wazuh, Sysmon, Windows 11, Linux, VMware
Built an isolated security monitoring environment using a Wazuh SIEM server, Windows endpoint, and Debian workstation, integrating Sysmon and Windows Security Event Logs. Configured and troubleshot SIEM infrastructure, including Linux max map count requirements and Ubuntu LVM storage expansion. Investigated simulated unauthorized account creation using Wazuh, correlating Windows Event ID 4720 with detection rule 60109 to identify the security event.

Suricata IDS, Nmap, tcpdump, Linux, VMware
Built an isolated virtual network to simulate, detect, and investigate network security events using Suricata IDS, Ubuntu Server, and Debian. Created custom Suricata signatures and simulated Nmap reconnaissance and ICMP flood activity to evaluate network threat detection. Captured and analyzed PCAP traffic and IDS logs, investigating DNS queries, HTTP requests, TCP handshakes, port scans, and security alerts.
