About
Hi, I’m Neeraj Upadhayay, and I’m currently pursuing my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. I’m a technology enthusiast with a strong interest in software development, full-stack engineering, and cybersecurity. Over the course of my studies and internships, I’ve tried to build practical experience rather than limiting myself to only theoretical knowledge. My primary interest is in software development, particularly frontend and full-stack development. I have hands-on experience with technologies such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Tailwind CSS. I enjoy building user interfaces that are not only visually clean but also functional, responsive, and easy to maintain. Working with React has helped me understand component-based development, reusable code, state management, API integration, and how frontend applications communicate with backend services. Along with frontend development, I’ve also been developing my backend skills. I have worked with Node.js and have experience with REST APIs, PostgreSQL, and Supabase. I’m interested in understanding applications as a complete system rather than focusing on only one layer. That means I like understanding how a request moves from the frontend to an API, how the backend processes it, how data is stored in a database, and how the final result is presented to the user. I also have experience working with Git and GitHub, which has helped me understand the importance of version control, maintaining organized code, and collaborating on software projects. I’m comfortable learning new tools and technologies when a project requires them, and I believe that adaptability is particularly important when working in a startup environment. One of the other areas I’ve explored seriously is cybersecurity. I have gained practical exposure to web application security and cybersecurity through my internships and learning experiences. This has given me a different perspective on software development because I don’t just think about whether an application works; I also think about whether it is secure, how user data is handled, and what vulnerabilities could potentially affect the application. My cybersecurity experience has also improved the way I approach problem-solving. When I work on a technical problem, I try to understand the root cause rather than simply applying a quick fix. I enjoy breaking complex problems into smaller parts, investigating them, testing possible solutions, and then implementing the most appropriate solution. I’ve had the opportunity to gain professional exposure through internships as well. As a Frontend Developer at Kasper Infotech, I worked on frontend development and gained practical experience in working with web technologies in a professional environment. This experience helped me understand that professional development is different from simply building personal projects. In a professional environment, factors such as code quality, deadlines, communication, maintainability, and collaboration become equally important. I have also gained cybersecurity experience through my work with Navodita Infotech, where I explored cybersecurity-related responsibilities and strengthened my understanding of security concepts. Additionally, my exposure to web application security has helped me understand common application-level security concerns and the importance of developing software with security in mind. What I enjoy most about technology is the continuous learning aspect. There is always something new to understand, whether it is a framework, backend architecture, database optimization technique, security vulnerability, development methodology, or a better way to solve an existing problem. I’m comfortable with the fact that I don’t know everything yet. Instead, I see that as an opportunity to learn. For example, when I encounter a technology or concept that I haven’t worked with before, my approach is generally to first understand the fundamentals, then build something small with it, and finally try to use it in a practical project. I find that this approach helps me retain concepts much better than simply reading documentation or watching tutorials. I’m particularly interested in working in a startup environment because startups provide an opportunity to take ownership and work across different areas of a product. In a larger organization, responsibilities can sometimes be very specialized, whereas in an early-stage or growing company, a developer may get exposure to frontend, backend, APIs, databases, deployment, debugging, testing, and product decisions. That kind of environment is very attractive to me because I want to become a well-rounded engineer.
