About
I am a pharmacy professional-in-training pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy (Post Baccalaureate), with a strong foundation in clinical pharmacy, pharmacovigilance, pharmaceutical care, and clinical research. My academic journey and research experiences have strengthened my interest in evidence-based medicine, rational drug use, medication safety, and improving patient outcomes through systematic clinical assessment and scientific research. I am passionate about understanding the practical application of pharmaceutical knowledge in patient care. My primary areas of interest include identifying drug-related problems, evaluating pharmacotherapy, assessing medication safety, and understanding how appropriate clinical interventions can improve treatment effectiveness. I believe that the role of a clinical pharmacist extends beyond the knowledge of medicines to include critical thinking, patient-centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous evaluation of therapeutic outcomes. My research experience includes the assessment of pharmacotherapy challenges among hospitalized patients using the Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE) Classification V9.1. Through this work, I have developed an interest in identifying, classifying, and understanding drug-related problems across General Medicine, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Nephrology, and Cardiology. This experience has encouraged me to appreciate the importance of systematic medication review, appropriate dose selection, drug interaction assessment, therapeutic monitoring, and communication among healthcare professionals. I am also interested in diabetes management and its associated complications, particularly diabetic foot ulcers. My research focuses on comparing sliding-scale insulin and basal-bolus insulin therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and diabetic foot ulcers, with an emphasis on glycemic control, clinical outcomes, safety, and cost-related considerations. This area of research has deepened my interest in understanding the relationship between pharmacotherapy, infection management, wound healing, and overall patient recovery. In addition to hospital-based research, I am currently working on developing my knowledge of breast cancer through a review article. I am interested in exploring advances in cancer pharmacotherapy, targeted treatments, precision medicine, pharmacogenomics, and the mechanisms influencing treatment response and resistance. This interest reflects my desire to expand my understanding of emerging therapeutic approaches and the role of research in improving cancer care. I am particularly interested in evidence-based research because I believe that reliable scientific evidence is essential for making informed clinical decisions. I aim to strengthen my skills in literature searching, research methodology, clinical data collection, biostatistics, scientific writing, and critical appraisal of published studies. I value accuracy, ethical research practices, and the responsible interpretation of clinical findings. My professional interests also include pharmacovigilance and medication safety. I recognize the importance of identifying, documenting, and evaluating adverse drug reactions and other medicine-related risks to support safer pharmacotherapy. I aspire to contribute to healthcare practices that prioritize patient safety, rational medication use, and continuous improvement in treatment quality. I consider myself a continuous learner who is motivated to develop both clinical and research competencies. I value analytical thinking, attention to detail, teamwork, and professional communication. I am eager to gain further experience in clinical pharmacy practice and research, contribute to meaningful healthcare projects, and learn from experienced healthcare professionals and researchers. My long-term goal is to establish myself as a competent clinical pharmacist and research-oriented healthcare professional who can integrate pharmaceutical knowledge with clinical evidence to support better patient care. I aspire to contribute to medication safety, pharmacotherapy optimization, and research that addresses clinically relevant problems. Through my academic journey and future professional experiences, I hope to make a meaningful contribution to healthcare by promoting safe, effective, and evidence-based use of medicines.
