About
Customer service has been at the heart of what I’ve done throughout my working life. Although my career has taken me through recruitment, business development, account management and running my own company, the common thread has always been people — looking after customers, solving problems, handling complaints, retaining relationships and making sure people feel listened to and properly supported. I’ve worked independently and remotely since 2007, so remote working isn’t something I’ve had to adapt to. I’m comfortable managing my own workload, priorities, customer communication and administration without needing close supervision. I’m a strong administrator and very comfortable with technology. I’ve worked extensively with HubSpot and numerous other CRM systems and databases throughout my career. At one company, I even helped build and configure our CRM after installation, adapting the system and workflows so they worked around the strengths and needs of our business. I’m professionally trained in telesales and have spent many years communicating with customers by telephone, email and digital channels. I’m equally comfortable having an everyday customer conversation, managing an important account or dealing calmly with somebody who is unhappy. That last part is something I particularly value. Good customer service isn’t just about being friendly when everything is going well. It’s about how you respond when something has gone wrong. In one previous role, a long-standing client was ready to leave our company after becoming extremely unhappy with the service they had received from another office. I took ownership of the situation, listened to the client, rebuilt the relationship and ultimately retained their business. A company director personally thanked me for preventing the client from leaving. That relationship-first approach has followed me throughout my career. I’ve managed client accounts, handled complaints, resolved problems, re-engaged dormant customers, supported candidates and customers through difficult situations, managed high volumes of communication and built long-term commercial relationships. I also spent years running my own recruitment company fully remotely, personally handling customer service, sales, operations, administration and compliance. Before that, I progressed from Recruitment Consultant through Senior Consultant and Branch Manager to Director and part-owner of a recruitment business, while remaining hands-on with clients and customers throughout. Today, I’m particularly interested in 100% remote, English-speaking opportunities where I can put that experience to good use. My strengths include: Customer Service | Customer Support | Complaint Resolution | Customer Retention | Account Management | Client Relations | Telephone & Email Support | HubSpot | CRM Systems | Administration | Telesales | Database Management | Problem Solving | Remote Working | IT & Systems I’m experienced, self-motivated, comfortable with technology and, most importantly, I genuinely enjoy dealing with people. Sometimes the best customer service is simply taking ownership of somebody’s problem and making sure it gets sorted.
