Specialist One to One Study Skills Tutor

Job Description

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Would you like to support the academic progress of students with barriers to learning? Are you experienced in working professional with adults or young people in a supportive role? Do you have specialist knowledge of specific learning difficulties or autism?

As a specialist one to one study skills tutor you will be responsible for providing study skills and disability strategy support to students with specific learning difficulties, autism and a range of other disabilities.

You must either:

  • The appropriate professional membership for supporting students with specific learning difficulties of: ADSHE, BDA, Dyslexia Guild or PATOSS, as set in the DSA-QAG mandatory criteria. And/ or

  • Meet the DfE Mandatory Criteria for Specialist one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support – Autism Spectrum Conditions (SS-ASC). Details can be found here: final-nmh-qualifications-matrix-july2023.pdf (slc.co.uk) .The details can be found on pages 12-16.

The University will reimburse you for professional body fees and some relevant CPD.
