The Manager Shopper Marketing will be responsible for utilizing shopper insights to develop strategic capabilities and marketing activations to drive account-level category growth strategies. This role collaborates with Customer Account Managers, eCommerce Strategists, Commercial Development, Brand Marketing, and Category/Shopper Insights to build brand and category level (multi-brand) Retail Marketing strategies which ensure an optimized Path to Purchase through retail digital media, in-store media, and promotions.

The role is ultimately responsible for driving deep account leadership connectivity to facilitate coordinated campaigns to drive improved return on investment and category growth utilizing Nestle brands.

Primary Responsibilities:

Category Strategy: Product / brand category objectives

  • Develop channel and customer-specific retail marketing plans to drive category growth

Customer Strategy: Seen as leader in Shopper insight and strategy, sales performance targets, meeting sales goals, segmentation / resource allocation, improving customer partnerships

  • Identify, assess and prioritize retail marketing opportunities based on Division objectives and programs
  • Ensure strategic alignment between Nestle priorities and customer priorities, including funding levels, test and learn opportunities, and total customer commercial plan
  • Manage relationships with Meijer, HyVee, Giant Eagle, and other customers as assigned by ensuring activation of retail marketing programs in a timely, efficient, and effective manner
  • Work closely with creative agency, brand marketing, and commercial development to lead creative development for retail marketing programs
  • Develop and manage yearly retail marketing plan end-to-end, including development, execution, reporting, and payment processes with clear KPIs to measure program success

Key Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree/MBA preferred
  • 5 years of brand marketing or direct shopper marketing experience, preferably in CPG
  • Agency relationship management experience
  • Retail sales experience is a plus
  • Travel: 25%

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of interrelationship of key functions and their key initiatives (Sales, Marketing, Finance)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business driving technology solutions (i.e. Circana, Numerator), internal/external industry insights and trends and syndicated market measurements data
  • Knowledge of core Business Processes and Fundamentals (Sales/Distribution, Customer Planning and Managing, Financial Reporting, Training, HR Policies, Integrated Commercial Planning)
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research techniques/methods
