Job Description

Brannon Steel is looking for a CAD Operator to join the team at its Brampton manufacturing facility. You will use mechanical design principles and CAD/CAM applications such as SolidWorks, MasterCAM, Radan / RadBend and Draftsight to turn customer drawings and specifications into production CAD files for a variety of industrial processes.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret customer designs and specifications
  • Operate industrial CAD / CAM software to output production drawings and layouts
  • Communicate with sales and engineering staff regarding work requirements
  • Provide information and support to production staff
  • Maintain standards for document control, quality, and traceability
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper files

Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary mechanical design or similar program OR equivalent experience
  • Proficient with Solidworks. Experience with other applications such as MasterCAM, ProNest, Radan / RadBend and Draftsight is an asset
  • Fluent in both imperial and metric systems
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Read, write, and speak English at a conversational level
  • Complete work independently based on assigned priorities
  • Able to work Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm
