About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Associate to join our growing offshore team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing financial records, processing transactions, and supporting accounting functions to ensure smooth financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable
    • The associate would be responsible for managing client email inboxes, including but not limited to managing vendor information, responding to vendor emails, and coding invoices in the client’s accounts payable software on a daily basis. On a weekly basis, they would also prepare AP run files
  • Accounts Receivable
    • Depending on the client, the associate would also be responsible for preparing customer emails, sending collection follow up emails and preparing AR aging summaries
    • Month End Close
      • The associate will be working on 5-7 clients depending on their size. They will be preparing month end tasks concurrently across these clients during the first 10-15 business days of the month
      • Typically tasks assigned on an associate level include bank and credit card reconciliations, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations. As they gain experience, the tasks can also evolve in complexity, including areas such as payroll, accruals, revenue and preparing the financial statement package and flux analysis
    • Audit / Tax Requests
      • As our clients file their annual tax returns or grow to the size of needing audits, we also have associates assist in preparing schedules needed to support these processes

    Requirements

    • Strong preference would be a degree in Accounting, with Finance or related fields being secondary.
    • If they have a degree in a related field, an accounting certification would be a plus

    Must Haves

    • Full professional proficiency, both spoken and written. We work very closely with our offshore associates so it’s imperative to minimize communication issues
    • 2 to 5 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably with a US based company.
      • This associate will be working on bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, etc. so they should have experience preparing those types of reconciliations in a previous role
    • Experience with Quickbooks Online (it’s not 100% must-have but is a very large bonus)

    Nice to Haves

    • Work experience at one of the big four US accounting firms (KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, Ernst & Young)
    • Ability to create or improve processes. We’re a fast paced start up and don’t always have lengthy process documentation available.
    • Experience in Netsuite, Bill.com and/or Ramp

    Work Schedule

Typically, the associate’s schedule would be 9AM – 6PM EST. We have flexibility to shift that window an hour either way but this is the time the vast majority of our clients are online.

    Perks

    • Competitive USD compensation
    • PTO Policy in addition to US Holiday Schedule
    • Opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing company
    • Positive and collaborative work environment
