Job Summary
The Financial Analyst position is a critical part of the QBU – Financial Reporting & Analysis team. The role involves financial reporting, variance analysis, and supporting financial forecasts for the Qatar Business Unit’s two new expansion projects. The analyst will provide timely insights to support informed decision-making and ensure adherence to all financial reporting and planning requirements by maintaining essential internal processes and controls.

Your responsibilities may include:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual internal reporting requirements including variance analysis of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement
- Handle necessary corporate tax reporting requests
- Support annual financial audits and participate in SOX documentation efforts
- Support the BU’s planning activities; coordinate with asset function to generate the LRP, budget and outlooks
- Present key financial information to the BU Finance & IT Manager and QBU Leadership Team
- Collaborate with IT and others to support digital finance and continuous improvement efforts
- Respond to various inquiries, provide support to local management in decision-making and the understanding of business results and projections
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with QatarEnergy LNG and internal representatives within the Finance organization to support functional activities and deliverables
- Provide support to the BU Finance function as required
Basic/Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or foreign equivalent
- 3 or more years of finance experience with general accounting principles
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word
Preferred:
- 5 or more years of finance experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience with data analytics and data warehouses, such as Snowflake
- Exposure to SAP or similar accounting systems
- Drives thoughtful and pragmatic change, inspires innovative thinking and continuous improvement, and models adaptability through resourcefulness, flexibility, and positivity
- Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
