Job Description

Law graduate from HEC (Higher Education Commission) recognized university with 1 year of relevant experience with 6 months of Bar Enrollment.

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide assistance in the review / preparation of initial drafts of the contracts. The incumbent is also responsible to maintain and report the status of contracts under different stages of drafting and reviewing stage.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing initial draft agreements / contracts including but not limited to service level agreements, both upstream and downstream gas sale and purchase agreements, and contracts of procured services that are governed by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Rules.
  • Identify amendments to various laws, rules and regulations made by federal, provincial or local government and other statutory bodies from time to time and present to immediate superior for review.
  • Assist in drafting / reviewing contracts relating to commercial transactions, memorandum of understanding (MoUs) and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Assist in preparing drafts relating to tenancy and lease agreements ensuring that legal perspective as well as SSGC interests are appropriately covered.
  • Assist supervisor in negotiation of the gas sale agreements with the exploration & production (E&P) companies within the gas industry.
  • Maintain copies of the contracts in safe custody.
  • Undertake initial drafting of the legal opinions and legal guidance for review of the Legal department’s management prior to sharing with the user departments.
  • Attend court or federal ombudsman hearings on behalf of SSGC, in important matters or as deemed appropriate.
  • Prepare periodic reports for the Legal department’s management on the progress status of contracts.
  • Comply with the risk management framework.
  • Participate actively in risk management activities across the organization.
  • Ensure that key risks are identified, reported, recorded and managed in a timely manner.
  • Receive appropriate training in risk management
  • Undertake any other task assigned by the superior.
