Senior Accountant (Remote)

Role Description:
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position is responsible for managing financial records, preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, processing payroll, and overseeing bill payments while ensuring compliance with GAAP and financial regulations. The Senior Accountant will also lead daily accounting operations and recommend and implement process improvements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to optimizing financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management & Reporting
  • Maintain and manage financial records accurately
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Payroll & Accounts Management
  • Prepare and process payroll and payments to Independent Contractors
  • Manage bill payments and accounts payable/receivable
• Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency
• Daily Accounting Operations
  • Oversee daily accounting tasks, including reconciliations and reporting

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Minimum of five years’ relevant “hands-on” experience with early stage/emerging companies in a fast-growing environment
• Experience working in a remote environment
• Track record of financial and business process implementation and improvement
• Strong proficiency in financial accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in accounting software (MS tools, Gusto, Bill.com) and ERP systems (Net Suite a plus)
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA certification preferred)
• Experience in technology or healthcare industry is a plus
