Overview:

The People Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the People Team department. This position will support People Team administrative responsibilities, ensuring compliance with company policies and fostering a positive employee experience. The People Operations Coordinator will assist with onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, payroll and various People Team projects, contributing to a productive and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
  • Manage HR systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing HR documents such as onboarding materials.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding/offboarding, including preparing orientation materials and ensuring completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Support FTE & 1099 payroll.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, and other People-related questions.
  • Assist in benefits enrollment and changes, coordinating with benefits providers as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of People processes and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Handle ad-hoc day-to-day administrative tasks to support the People Team.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors’ degree in a related field and at least 2 years of experience in HR / People Operations (not just recruiting).
  • Experience running multi-state payroll.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations is a plus.
  • Professional HR Certification is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a startup environment.
  • HRIS & tools such as: Rippling, Engagedly, Mineral, and Employee Navigator.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Employee engagement and onboarding/off-boarding processes.
