Job Description
Are you an experienced payroll professional with a keen eye for detail? Do you have solid knowledge of SARS returns, IRP5s, and monthly PAYE submissions? We are seeking a highly motivated Payroll Officer to join our dedicated team at our private game reserve, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth and accurate payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process the monthly payroll for all staff, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Prepare and submit monthly PAYE returns and SARS reconciliations.
- Calculate, prepare, and submit IRP5 certificates annually.
- Ensure all statutory deductions are correctly applied and submitted to the relevant authorities.
- Manage employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with internal audits and ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, particularly regarding SARS and PAYE tax rates.
- Produce accurate and timely payroll reports as required by management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll processing, ideally within a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of SARS payroll tax, PAYE, UIF, and SDL regulations.
- Proven experience with IRP5 certificate preparation and submission.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
- A degree or relevant payroll qualification will be an advantage.
