NHSScotland Assure is the new centre of expertise focusing on quality in the built environment through providing a suite of services encompassing the existing services provided by Health Facilities Scotland and ARHAI (Antimicrobial Resistance Healthcare Associated Infection). NHSScotland Assure is part of NHS National Services Scotland and provides operational guidance to NHSScotland healthcare bodies on all facilities topics. We deliver and co-ordinate effective advice and support in relation to national facilities, equipping and technical matters which support and improve health and well-being services.

The Post

The post is within the Architecture and Design team in the Property, Sustainability and Capital Assets Division, it is a highly professional, senior and autonomous team comprising Architects, National Fire Safety Advisors and a Principal Structural Engineer.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified professional who will be responsible for providing professional advice and support to NHSScotland, as well as representing NHScotland in dealings with other organisations through leading and contributing to the key work streams of the team. The team is responsible for the NHSScotland Design Assessment Process (NDAP), it’s implementation and development, as well as providing subject matter expert advice for Key Stage Assurance Reviews (KSAR). The team is also responsible for all relevant NHSScotland Assure guidance documentation, including its development and revision as well as any associated research streams.

The Candidate

An understanding of healthcare design and technical issues is a key requirement for the role. Potential candidates should have an understanding of the role and work of Assure and Property, Sustianability and Capital Planning.

The post holder will be expected to work with other professionals and subject matter experts within Property, Sustianability and Capital Planning and Engineering, Energy and Decontamination. The post holder will also work with colleagues from other areas of NHSScotland Assure including Infection Control, FM, and Business Support.

Location and Working Pattern:

This post can be based in Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow or any other NSS Location throughout Scotland.

Currently hybrid working.

The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
