Media Relations:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and journalists.
- Proactively pitch stories and secure positive media coverage for Shopee.
- Manage media inquiries and requests for information while monitoring media coverage and analyze sentiment.
- Collaborate with Regional PR team in mitigating content & alignment.
Crisis Management
- Identify and assess potential crises and reputational risks.
- Monitor and track emerging issues that could impact Shopee’s reputation
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans while managing media communication during a crisis.
- Act as a contact point of PR to other Depts for the information updates of policies change, sellers’ noise, Ad-hoc projects and support on the CS and internal communications during the crisis management
- Proactively engage with stakeholders (Regional PR, COO team, BoD, etc.) to manage expectations and address concerns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
Cross Function Support
- Support Content team in working on monthly campaign and ad-hoc projects.
- Lias with other stakeholders to support on issue/ crisis management.
- Other tasks assigned by team lead.
Requirements
- Proven Experience: 4+ years of experience in media relations and crisis management.
- Excellent Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and concise messages.
- Strong Media Relationships: Existing relationships with key media outlets and journalists.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute effective communication strategies.
- Crisis Management Expertise: Experience in managing crises and protecting corporate reputation.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems under pressure.
- Collaborative: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
