The Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for Head of Commercial Excellence to join our commercial team on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Country Manager, core focus of the role is responsible for commercial, operations of the business, combining the needs of the Sales, Marketing, Finance and Customers to create execution strategy to win in market. Accountable for owning the Commercial levers, the channel strategies incl the 5P’s, the national retail execution strategy and elevating Revenue Growth Management as a lever of growth in the business.

This role is at the heart of driving our Business Plan and bringing to life our activities, understanding our customer landscape and seamless working across internal stakeholders to maximise our external and internal performance.

Key Accountabilities And Performance Indicators Include

  • Annual Plan | Deliver annual Sales & Marketing Activity Plan (SMAP) to maximise activities through aligning sales & marketing objectives, defining objectives, sales targets and leading monthly SMAP process. Lead cycle meetings, as well as key lead for Annual Business Planning process along with Head of Sales, Head of Marketing and Country Manager, liaising with regional teams.
  • Budget | Responsible for Trade Marketing & Merchandising budget to execute Strategy to Shelf both online and offline. Defining optimal Coverage to support the Perfect Store program to Win in Retail.
  • Commercial | Develop and own the Commercial Planning Process and Cadence, from Customer Planning, Innovation, RGM and Resource distortion. Responsible for putting the Consumer, Category and Customer at the centre of our strategic and executional priorities.
  • Prioritisation | Work with Marketing and Customer Development to set Portfolio and Channel priorities and lead the distortion of resources to Win.
  • Channel | Lead the development of Go-to-Market Retail Environment strategy / 5P by RE Strategy (all REs) including
  • Product Lead and achieve a clear Brand, Pack Channel strategy that meets our shopper needs design optimal MSL distribution strategy
  • Price Lead analysis and strategic thinking to ensure optimal $/mL/Tablet, volume-based discounts and optimal delivery of our pricing strategy
  • Promo Develop & ensure compliance to our promotional strategy that is achieved by account (Depth/Freq/rules) driving Volume, Value and GP and delivers out sales, Trade Spend budget without
  • Placement : Develop and execute placement strategies online and offline to support our Brand and Category ambitions.
  • Point of Purchase Bringing our brands to life online and offline with strategic placement of ROI driving brand assets in stores to drive conversion.
  • Category and Shopper Champion | Work with internal stakeholders to ensure our portfolio and brand ambitions start with the category and provide our Brands as solutions to Value creation opportunities.
  • Sales Force Effectiveness | Retail Execution Design optimal coverage to implement our 5P’s with success both online and offline. Providing technology solutions for efficient instore execution and tracking/reporting mechanisms to bring Perfect store to life across the Organisation.
  • Team responsibilities | Build a strong presence for Commercial Excellence in the leadership team, elevating an outside in mindset to bring our brands to life online and offline. Build the new Comm Ex team with dedicated resources for Trade Marketing x 2, and Commercial Executive x1 fostering a can-do attitude to win instore.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree from recognized Colleges/Universities
  • Proven track record 5+ yrs in building sales and shares across multiple FMCG Retail Environments, Consumer Health care, skincare/personal care category is an advantage.
  • Proven track record in leading Customer teams and Shopper/Trade Marketing teams Senior Level, Cross functional experience will be beneficial
  • Strong Financial acumen and understanding of market and brand P&L
  • Ability to build, lead and develop high performing teams
  • Ability to drive process & systems simplification as well as continuous process improvements
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate trade/customer/shopper insights and strategies into strong go-to-market priorities and execution plans
  • Ability to build, align, communicate & execute effective retail execution frameworks
  • Ability to engage senior cross-functional stakeholders to shape and align commercial objectives, systems and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust approach based on different situations
  • Self-motivated with strong operational discipline to deliver against financial budgets, timelines and ROI objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to make strategic decisions with an understanding of global, regional and local market implications and influences
  • Up to 25% travel domestically and internationally.
