Job Description

Job Purpose:

Oversee and provide guidance for the accurate execution of all accounting activities according to the local and international accounting standards in order to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the general accounting process, including accounts receivable and payable,

as well as the project’s accounting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and direct the implementation of the department strategy ensuring alignment to divisional strategy, RUA’s vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
  • Lead the effective achievement of the department objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating employees to maximize individual and functional performance.
  • Develop, manage, and enforce corporate and projects accounting policies, procedures, standards, and systems that comply with international and locally accepted accounting principles, regulations, and applicable local laws.
  • Manage accounting activities such as processing of revenues, expenditures, general ledger, account maintenance, data entry, etc., and ensure timely and accurate closing and consolidation of all ledgers and accounts to guarantee timely and accurate accounting activities.
  • Manage document control activities (i.e., sorting and examining all incoming and outgoing documents, including invoices, bids, orders, and all internally related docs) through financial control tools and processes aiming to ensure all documents are adherent to RUA financial control and accounting policies.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure smooth completion of financial audits.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of RUA’s Chart of Accounts, while ensuring business needs are balanced with accounting concepts and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure the adequate and timely recording of inflows by reviewing reports regularly to reflect sound accounting principles and standards.
  • Ensure maintaining and managing RUA’s accounting records to fulfill all requirements, such as preparing statements of financial position and statements of income, recording the assets of the bank, and all reporting.
  • Review financial information generated from the General Ledger for reasonableness and advise on any balances that may require investigation.
  • Manage the production of financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statement (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually) and the reconciliation of schedules.
  • Manage the execution of central accounts activities to ensure that all payments, contracts, accruals, and related transactions are recorded and reconciled according to internal and statutory controls, as well as appropriate international standards.
  • Follow up on contracts with vendors and third parties to protect the interests of the organization and ensure that all invoices and payments comply with relevant terms and conditions.
  • Oversee project-related activities of accounts receivable to ensure proper processing of invoices for payment as well as efficient documentation, analysis, and reconciliation of relevant data as per RUA policies and procedures.
  • Follow up on receivables in coordination with the relevant business counterpart and oversee the closing of payables to ensure bank account reconciliations.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate cost allocation of all transactions/payments to the respective entities, as well as the timely consolidation and communication of payments, to support accurate and efficient cost control.
  • Provide internal/external auditors with the necessary information and explanations about the activities of the department to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and standards.
  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of tax risks for RUA in relation to any applicable tax laws and regulations, monitor tax changes, and communicate their impact on the business.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a related field, with at least 2 years in a director-level position.
