Job Summary
The Computer Operator is responsible for the monitoring and controlling of the IBC Core systems and related PC equipment in the computer room in accordance with Computer Operations Run Guide. Computer Operations monitors all customer-facing and many internal critical systems. Com Ops is a 24×7 environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Operate the host computers in accordance with Computer Operations Run Guide implemented by Computer Operations management.
- Continuous monitoring of all IBC on-line facilities and data center infrastructure, communicating to management or appropriate teams any detected problems.
- Keep backup tape inventory.
- Keep Computer Room equipment and environment clean.
- Back up OS, code and data on all AIX (IBM UNIX) machines.
- Assist users in the resolution of core systems-related issues.
- Call for assistance upon detection of a problem and record issue and resolution in the event log.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by Computer Operations Management.

EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic PC operation skills. Basic Microsoft Office knowledge. UNIX operating system experience preferred.
- 1 year Computer Operations/Network Operations Center experience preferred.
- Must work shift work, as scheduled. Must be able to lift 10 lbs.
