Job Description
Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our humanoid robot, Figure 02, is designed for commercial tasks and the home. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It’s time to build.
We are looking for a Patent Agent who will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and providing technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, or computer science fields.
Responsibilities
- Drafting high-quality patent applications, including generating patent figures and writing detailed patent applications to protect innovative technologies
- Prosecuting patent applications, including responding to office actions and communicating with patent examiners
- Conducting and analyzing comprehensive patent searches to identify prior art and assess the patentability of inventions
- Staying up to date on developments in U.S. patent law and relevant technologies
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science
- Certification: Registered as a patent agent before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Experience: 8+ years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a large law firm environment
- Skills: Strong analytical, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $100,000 – $200,000 annually.
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
