Job Description

Community Youth Ministries (CYM) of Reedley, CA is looking to hire one (1) Full-Time Restorative Justice Case Manager to work with our Reedley Peace Building Initiative (RPBI) Restorative Justice Team. This position earns $25.00 – $40.00/hour, depending on experience. We also offer Medical, Dental, Vision and 403(b) Retirement Plan.

Started in 1992 as a collaborative effort of 15 local churches to provide positive alternate activities for area youth, we are a 501(c)(3) that partners with local organizations, schools, and churches to empower and strengthen youth through various programs for youth. About Reedley Peace Building Initiative (rpbi)

RPBI is a voluntary, community based, pre-arrest, restorative justice process focused on prevention and intervention of juvenile criminal behavior. Police, school and community work together through trusted relationships while restoring justice. RPBI creates supportive opportunities for offending youth to be accountable in their decision to make right their harm to victims, family, and community. For over 14 years of accountable, evidence-based restorative justice processes, RPBI has supported hundreds of youth offenders stay out of the Criminal Justice System and remain in school.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in restorative justice, criminal justice, or related field
  • Experience in restorative justice or related field preferred
  • Experience in gang related behavioral intervention, advocacy, mentorship and re-direction (preferred)

Qualifications

  • Understanding of the Criminal Justice System and specifically, the Juvenile Justice System
  • Understanding of School Based Discipline policies and practices
  • Ability to discuss sensitive topics effectively to children, students, and adults
  • Ability to relate comfortably with a diverse clientele
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information belonging to the client, school district, and/or law enforcement
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret case information as reported, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to write narrative reports and correspondence
  • Ability to be a self-starter and finisher
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral presentations to large groups
  • Practices effective Self-Care
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
  • Experience in case management preferred
  • Current California Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass DOJ and FBI clearances
