About The Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Telemetry Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: – Cardiac knowledge preferred – Advanced skills needed: knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips Job Description: – Work on a 30-bed unit with a patient ratio of 5-6:1 – Unit staffing includes a Unit Clerk during the day, 2-3 PCTs day and night, a Nursing Supervisor, and Hospitalists – Utilize equipment such as Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, Philips Telemetry, and MP2s – Document using the Meditech system – Administer medications using WOW with med drawers and Pyxis ES dispensing system – Follow scheduling requirements, including the equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) – Adhere to the floating policy which includes rotating to other medical/surgical areas unless skill mix is needed – Perform procedures such as chest tube management, wound vac management, and EKGs as needed – Compliance with dress code: RN – Navy and CNA/PCT – Ceil blue scrub set and jacket, with permissible undershirts in white, blue, grey, or black (no graphics) – Maintain department guidelines/policies, including documentation of telemetry application and acknowledgment of rhythm strips – Engage in bedside and hourly rounding with 5Ps checked, reporting needs to PCTs and utilizing resources such as glass board and scrolling video kiosk for updates – Participate in shared governance initiatives within the unit and facility Additional Information: – The unit has Charge Nurses with significant seniority, offering a supportive and experienced team environment – Opportunities for recognition through initiatives like Daisy and Bee Awards, and iHEAL nominations
