The Aircraft Project Manager plans, organizes, and leads the aircraft production group to achieve Company objectives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages aircraft project schedules; responsible for the scheduling and sequencing of work
  • Assists in troubleshooting to solve production process problems while minimizing costs and preventing delivery delays
  • Ensures quality standards are met throughout production
  • Champions utilization of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement philosophies and concepts throughout the aircraft production group; leads the implementation of Lean Six Sigma initiatives
  • Coordinates with Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, and other departments to ensure that schedules and budgets are met and problems are resolved in a timely manner
  • Coordinates with Facilities and the Safety team to develop and maintain a safe work environment; ensures that stringent housekeeping, 5S standards and safety procedures and practices are followed; ensures that tools/equipment meet safety requirements
  • Ensures aircraft production activities are in conformance with Company”s established policies and FAA regulations
  • Develops and reports aircraft production metrics
  • Conducts performance evaluations, plans salary actions, recommends hires and promotions, anticipates, and plans for skills and human resource requirements and develops staff to meet those needs
  • Interprets and applies Company policies and provides leadership toward resolving employee problems.

Minimum Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and five years of relevant experience, or in absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience with technically complex low volume manufacturing in a highly regulated aviation environment
  • A minimum of three years of management experience
  • Experience developing and managing production schedules
  • Experience coordinating requirements and expectations with leadership, peers, and subordinates effectively
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in order to effectively present ideas, concepts, and proposals to all levels of the organization
  • Must demonstrate commitment, vision, and a tenacity to drive assignments to completion
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to develop, revise, and review Company policies and procedures
  • Must meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) as a U.S. Person
