Key Responsibilities
- Manage both work-related and non-work-related cases to promote safe and prompt return to work.
- Maintain ongoing communication with employees to monitor recovery progress.
- Ensure all necessary medical certifications are up-to-date and compliant.
- Communicate work restrictions to supervisors and coordinate with Human Resources regarding employees with time off.
- Organize healthcare interventions and early treatment plans to support employee recovery.
- Provide health counseling and referrals to medical professionals as needed.
- Collaborate with medical providers and insurers to track treatment progress and ensure accurate documentation.
- Assist employees in navigating the short-term disability process and submitting workers’ compensation claims.
- Schedule and coordinate medical appointments in conjunction with employees and third-party providers.
- Review third-party medical assessments for accuracy and compliance.
- Notify management of fitness-for-work concerns unearthed during medical evaluations.
- Organize immunizations based on role or travel requirements.
- Monitor medication disclosures against occupational health standards and consult an occupational health physician when necessary.
- Schedule and oversee drug and alcohol testing appointments, ensuring compliance and timely documentation of results.
- Maintain meticulous data entry within the health records system (e.g., Cority).
- Plan and implement health promotion initiatives such as wellness days and immunization programs.
- Address employee inquiries through the occupational health communication channels.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of occupational health, specifically in case management.
- Strong understanding of occupational health practices, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in data management systems (e.g., Cority) with a focus on accurate record-keeping.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate collaboration with employees, supervisors, and healthcare providers.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with health promotion initiatives and wellness programs is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- A nursing background is preferred.
- A valid RN License is required.
