Job Description
Job Summary: The Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing construction or project teams to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and according to the highest safety and quality standards. They will supervise daily operations on the worksite, coordinate tasks, manage resources, and provide guidance to workers to meet project objectives.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Supervision:
- Oversee and manage daily activities on the job site, ensuring the completion of tasks according to project plans and timelines.
- Coordinate and direct the activities of workers and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Team Management:
- Lead, motivate, and supervise crew members, providing clear instructions and guidance.
- Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure efficient work distribution.
- Monitor work progress, check quality of work, and provide feedback to workers as needed.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed and maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, perform safety inspections, and report any hazards.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely and report any safety incidents or accidents.
- Resource Management:
- Oversee the distribution and usage of materials, equipment, and tools to ensure efficient operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Maintain proper inventory control of tools and equipment.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct quality checks of work performed to ensure it meets project specifications.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts related to quality or workmanship.
- Work with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Maintain regular communication with project managers and supervisors regarding project progress, issues, and resource needs.
- Provide daily or weekly reports on project status, including labor, materials, and any challenges faced.
- Ensure proper documentation of work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
Qualifications And Skills
- Proven experience as a Foreman or in a similar supervisory role in construction or a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team to achieve high performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor if required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction or management are a plus.
