Job Description

Recruitment Process

  • Follow the full recruitment system, including PPA and fingerprinting
  • Oversee the co-ordination of recruitment throughout the company.
  • Set Up Interviews
  • Conduct Interviews
  • Ensure that Job Advertisements are placed in the various media
  • Ensure that Internally adverts are sent out
  • Compile a comprehensive Recruitment Data Base from CV’s received
  • Conduct Reference Checks
  • Conduct Exit Interviews

General Human Resources Duties

  • Drafting of Letters of Appointments & Job Descriptions
  • Ensure that the necessary counselling is given or arranged to the staff when necessary.
  • Ensure effective communication with the employees
  • Input in Drafting of Policies and Procedures
  • Monitors company policy and procedures in line with group policy and prevailing legislation.
  • Maintaining of KPI’s and Performance Appraisals system
  • Ensure all staff receive performance appraisals in accordance with company policy and monitor accordingly.
  • Attend daily Operations meetings
  • Must be up to date with current and prevailing employment and labour legislation
  • Ensure all HR Reports are done timeously.
  • Ensure criminal checks are done for new employees in advance
  • Ensure criminal checks are conducted for all existing employees every 2 years
  • Ensure Daily Labour costs are done and submitted
  • Assist with the management of the Time & Attendance system
  • Implement Wellness initiatives
  • Plan and Chair the monthly Departmental Spokepersons meetings
  • Employment Equity
  • Assist with compilation and submission of the EE reports to the Department of Labour annually by deadline date.
  • Form & Chair the EE committee
  • Organize and plan quarterly EE meetings
  • Minute and distributed meeting minutes
  • Ensure usage of the EE module on Sage Payroll

Workplace Skills Plan And Annual Training Reports

  • Work closely with the Training & Development Officer and:
  • Assist with the compilation and submission of the online reports to Seta
  • Planning and organizing training
  • Application of Learnerships via the Pivotal section of the online submission
  • Ensure usage of the SD module on Sage payroll

BEE Compliance & Implementation

  • Assist the National HR Manager in the preparation of the BEE verification audit file on all Elements of the Scorecard
  • Active Involvement of all elements of the scorecard
  • Must have full understanding of current BEE Legislation and requirements

IR

  • Work close with the Disciplinary Officer and ensure the following:
  • Performance, grievance and IR related issues.
  • Conduct all investigations regarding theft and other disciplinary issues
  • Issue the relevant Disciplinary action and documentation
  • Preparation of Notice to attend a hearing, absconsion, written warnings etc.
  • Chair disciplinary hearings
  • Attend CCMA/BC cases on behalf of the company
  • Ensure De-Merit Point Warnings are Issued
  • Ensure Alert Warning on points are issued
  • Attend Union Meetings – and liaison for all Union related matters.
  • Investigate the daily absenteeism and issue the necessary disciplinary actions

Payroll Management

  • Work closely with the Payroll Administrator to ensure that the payroll is captured and deadlines are met.

Qualifications

  • HR Degree
  • Qualification in Industrial Relations will be an advantage
  • Driver’s Licence and Own vehicle
