About Sport Climbing Australia
Sport Climbing Australia (SCA) is the national governing body responsible for the sport of Climbing in Australia as recognised by the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), Australian Sports Commission (ASC), Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) and Paralympics Australia (PA).
Sport Climbing is one of the Olympics’ and Paralympics’ newest and most exciting sports. Excitingly, Sport Climbing participation is rapidly growing in Australia and SCA is working to leverage current sport development opportunities to implement athlete development pathways conduct technical workforce development activities, bid for and host world class sport climbing events, develop participation programming that brings new people to our sport and support industry development.
We are embarking on an ambitious and exciting journey. As a result, we are currently recruiting our inaugural Chief Executive Officer to lead the delivery of our vision aligned closely to the Australian sport systems 2032+ strategy.
About the Role
The CEO will be responsible for both the delivery of the strategic vision of Sport Climbing Australia and ensuring its effective day-to-day operations. This includes overseeing the execution of key programs, managing operational processes, and addressing challenges as they arise.
The role requires a contemporary leader who can balance high-level strategy with practical execution, working closely with staff and stakeholders to drive both immediate impact and long-term growth.
Reporting to the Board, your accountabilities will include:
- Contemporary leadership and organisational growth.
- Revenue generation and financial sustainability.
- Stakeholder management and government relations.
- Communication and engagement.
- Day to day operations of the business.
- A commitment to the 2032+ Win Well strategy.
About You
We are looking for someone with the following skills, qualifications and experience:
- Experience leading a team towards a vision, getting key stakeholders on board and embedding behaviours that help deliver the vision.
- Experience in managing complex projects and competing agendas to prioritise, manage and deliver outcomes that achieve strategic and operational objectives.
- Familiarity with community sport and/or high performance sport programs and the ability to oversee their development and implementation at a national level.
- A commercially savvy leader with experience diversifying revenue streams.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be negotiated on the basis of skills and experience.
Child Safety
It is an inherent requirement of this role that the incumbent holds and maintains relevant, current, Child Safety certifications through a Working With Children or Vulnerable people Check.
