RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

The GCHP Grants Coordinator will manage the entire grant cycle for the GCHP Child Health mini research grant program. There are typically 1-2 grant cycles per calendar year, with responsibilities for both cycles overlapping in time. The Grants Coordinator reports to and works under the supervision of the co-directors of the GCHP.

General Duties

  • Dissemination of the call for applications,
  • Distribution and collection of the application form,
  • Review of applications and first pass selection based on pre-set criteria,
  • Coordination of second pass selection with the GCHP co-directors,
  • Communication with potential grant reviewers,
  • Distribution of grants to reviewers and follow up on grant review deadlines,
  • Communication of results to applicants,
  • Ongoing communication with awardees,
  • Distribution of funds,
  • Collection of mid-cycle and final reports,
  • Organization of 2 virtual learning session for awardees,
  • Preparation of final cycle program report,
  • Monitoring of GCHP email account.

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Field of Study: Sciences

Other education considered an asset for this position: Will also consider those with degrees in health fields such as nursing and medicine that do not fit specifically with a Bachelor’s degree

Work Experience: No specific years of experience required

Required Skills

  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.

Additional information

Status : Temporary Part time (7 hours/week)

Pay Scale: $24.28 to $36.43/hour Commensurate with education & work experience.

Work Shift: Flexible

Work Site: Telework
