Required Skills
Data Center Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
- Participate in critical design reviews for data center and hardware systems.
- Define product requirement document and system-level specifications that guide hardware systems design and data center design to operate efficiently and reliably.
- Perform characterization on electrical components, including AC/DC power supplies, battery back-up units, high-power switchboards, UPS, transformers and reactors.
- Establish an automation process for taking measurements and structuring results in a database for large-scale systems.
- Perform detailed analysis on test results and maintain a dashboard for test summaries.
- Provide engineering support for risk modeling, identify critical areas for improvement, and develop risk mitigation plans as needed.
- Collaborate with Data Center Design, Site Operations and Facilities Operations teams, as well as Hardware Design and Release-to-Production teams, to understand issues affecting operational scalability of Meta data centers and hardware.
- Work with these internal groups and external consultants to perform complex, system-level troubleshooting.
- Use knowledge gained to highlight opportunities for significant engineering improvements and lead high-impact, measurable, cross-functional initiatives.
- Travel may be necessary to support field measurement and validation.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics or applied physics
- 7+ years of experience of AC electrical system, AC/DC power supply, compute server and/or networking product development or test experience
- Experience in impedance measurement and characterization on electrical systems
- Experience with test equipment including oscilloscope, power quality meter, and frequency analyzer
- Knowledgeable in test automation using scripting language to control the measurement instruments
- Experience with simulation tools for electromagnetic and system-level electrical circuit simulations
- Great communication and team collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Engineering or Physics degree
- Experience working with 3-phase power AC systems
- Experience with large-scale cloud environments in compute, storage or networking
- Proficiency with Python, SQL, GPIB, CAN, UART
- Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink, ANSYS, ETAP, SKM, Isograph
Public Compensation
$170,000/year to $240,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
