Job Summary

The Business Data Analyst position helps drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. Responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to uncover insights, trends, and opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of SQL and data visualization tools and will work closely with stakeholders to translate data into actionable recommendations. Operates under general supervision, with latitude for independent judgment.

Key Duties

  • Collect, process, and analyze pharmacy-related datasets, including adjudicated claims, MediSpan, clinical program data, and healthcare metrics
  • Gather data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, and spreadsheets. Write and optimize SQL queries to extract relevant data for business use.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across platforms by identifying and correcting discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to design and maintain reliable data pipelines.
  • Design and develop compelling dashboards, visual reports, and KPIs using PowerBI and other visualization tools to support business decision-making
  • Lead assigned projects and ensure timely completion, including complex assignments.

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent education plus technical experience (3-5 years).

Required Work Experience/Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL: query optimization, joins, CTEs, and working with complex data structures.
  • Detail-oriented and dedicated to a high standard of quality.
  • Effective and professional communication with technical and non-technical personnel in written and verbal forms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to self-manage and work in a cooperative team environment.
  • Skills for gathering business requirements, process analysis, design, and problem resolution.
  • Able to provide clarity on features and user scenarios to a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments and lead projects.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced use of Power BI.

Preferred Work Experience/Skills

  • Experience with Pharmacy and/or Healthcare data and metrics.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions, and General Employment Guidelines

  • Moderate levels of stress may be experienced in the performance of the job.
  • Position is performed in a general office environment, home office, or approved remote workspace where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting to 25 lbs.
  • Travel may be required for team meetings, conferences, or strategic sessions.

Equipment

  • Daily use of Microsoft Teams (messaging, calling, video), computer, and other routine office equipment.
  • Must have internet access.

  • Little responsibility for the safety of others. Job is performed in an office setting where there are no hazardous materials or equipment.
