Job Description
Position Overview: The Urban Forestry Intern will support our Urban Forestry program and activities. You will help us communicate the benefits of the Urban Forest, create and analyze tree and community data, and aid in the maintenance of our nursery and campus arboretum.
This Position Offers The Following Opportunities
- Learn concepts in Urban Forestry, Urban Ecology, and Behavioral Ecology.
- Learn and apply new skills using ESRI applications to collect and analyze data.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Urban Forestry Outreach programs and events.
Work Schedule: 20 hrs per week for 8 weeks
Skills / Experience / Training Needed
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university.
- Valid Florida driver’s license required.
- Must be able to work walking or standing on pavement or natural ground outdoors and or seated/standing at a desk for the duration of the workday.
- Able to use Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro and Online applications is desirable.
- Florida Tree ID knowledge is desirable.
