About The Practice And Role
The Medical Receptionist works as part of a supportive team consisting of the Practice Manager, Medical Secretary, Dr. Sparks, and you! The dynamic nature of the practice provides a unique and stimulating work environment. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, and your ‘super power’ is providing a positive and welcoming experience for all.
Your Role Offers Great Variety And Includes
- Meeting and greeting patients
- Answering phone calls and responding to emails
- Scheduling appointments
- Preparing patient files for consultations
- Managing unexpected requests
- Email and telephone communication
- Printing consulting lists
- Checking and updating patient details, including referrals
- Processing Medicare/DVA claims
- End-of-day banking
- Private/Medicare billing
- Preparing EFTPOS summaries and reconciling daily totals
- Liaising with hospital and affiliated staff
About You:
Experience working within a medical administration/reception role is a must along with possessing the following personal attributes:

- Patient, polite, and courteous
- Team-oriented
- Eager to assist the Practice Manager with administrative tasks
Remuneration & Benefits
Offered as a full or part time role to suit you and attracting an hourly rate in the range of $32 – $38 + Super (negotiable with the successful candidate based on skills, experience and qualifications). You will work in a gorgeous practice setting with incredible views over the MCG and sporting precinct, the Yarra River and CBD.
