Despatch Operative

Rate of Pay: £11.44 per hour rising to £11.50 plus bonus once training is completed.

We are actively seeking applications from individuals keen to take up a career within one of Europe’s leading food processing companies. This is an opportunity to join a well-established team, within our Despatch department as a Despatch Operative.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and packing items for despatch accurately, on time and in accordance with instructions.
• Stack products correctly in chills. Regular stocktaking and rotation of stock in chill storage.
• Check that correct number of crates on each pallet have been scanned and correct destination recorded.
• Process relevant documentation for each consignment.
• Load containers and ensure pallets have been scanned and checked prior to loading, enclosing documentation.
• Some associated duties in other departments when required, e.g., Loading Bay;
• Promote and maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards in accordance with company rules and regulations.
• Work to a ‘clean as you go policy’, ensure the Despatch area is always kept clean and tidy in line with the cleaning plan.
• Other associated duties.

Essential

Qualifications

• Possess good communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service.
• Flexible approach to work.
• Good level of verbal and written English.

Desirable

• Previous experience in the food industry is advantageous.
• Reach truck licence
