About the Team:
The Device Organization is a vertically integrated group of industry experts with full stack responsibility for designing and building complex products that prove humanness and uniqueness on a global scale. The functions include Industrial Design, Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Technical Operations, Supply Chain and Fleet Management collectively driven by World’s ambitious mission. The multidisciplinary nature of the project requires us to work closely with Security, Backend, Hardware, and AI & Biometrics teams.

About the Orb:
“Proof of human” is one of the core ideas behind World, and refers to establishing an individual is both human and unique. To make these determinations possible, we developed the Orb.
The Orb is an advanced biometric imaging device, custom-designed for World’s launch. Orbs are deployed to a global network of independent operators, who use the device to onboard new users to the World Network. During this onboarding, the Orb generates an encoding of each user’s iris and submits it to World’s backend. The Orb solves a fierce combination of engineering and UX challenges, centered around image quality, security, and ease-of-use. Each device has an advanced iris imaging system, designed to work consistently across real-world lighting conditions. An additional suite of sensors feeds into an onboard fraud detection system, enabling use in unsecured environments. These systems are combined in a sleek industrial design with a simple, minimalist user interface.
About the Opportunity:
In this role, you will lead the Supply Chain organization which includes sourcing and procurement of all material required to build our Orbs as well as custom fixtures and furniture we produce to enable our Orbs to be deployed in public spaces. Additionally, this role will be responsible for all commercial negotiations with key contract manufacturers to secure supply and cost negotiation. Strategic relationship development with critical suppliers will be a key element of building out the supply chain for our exciting new roadmap of devices.
Your team’s work will be essential to build our global fleet of Orbs enabling billions of people to verify and receive their World ID.
About You:

- 10+ years experience in consumer supply chain management
- Excellent sourcing and negotiation skills
- Technical education in engineering with business graduate degree a plus
- Experience in structuring and negotiating commercial terms in MSA and SOW agreements
- Excellent communication and project management skills.

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at TFH in San Francisco ranges from $300,000 – $350,000, plus a competitive long term incentive package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
