Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position performs the majority of tasks analyzing and evaluating user software and system needs. Handles standard maintenance activities and trouble shoots common service requests.

Level Scope:

Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgement and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.

Essential Functions:

60% of the time the Education Systems Coordinator must:

  • Run and monitor daily processes; develop strategies and methods for automated system improvements.
  • Identifies test case criteria; reviews, analyzes and documents test results and recommends changes to achieve desired results. Review application systems modules and documentation to ensure applications are properly developed and implemented into production according with department standards and customer requirements.
  • Respond to end-user inquiries by providing support and assistance in the definition and resolution to problems. Be able to communicate with staff and team members to include them in the solution. Monitors adherence to protocols and user manual instructions; train users when new features are added.
  • Create and design queries of data, collaborate with other team members and users to identify problem areas and be proactive in recommending solutions to problems.

35% of the time the Education Systems Coordinator must:

  • Work closely with faculty, programs, instructional designers and staff, the Albertsons Library staff, the Bookstore and other academic and technology teams across campus to support the requisition and integration of educational textbooks and materials.
  • Coordinate with the Scheduling Manager to develop fall, spring, and summer schedules for academic courses.
  • Using queries and other reporting methods, complete quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy of the schedule throughout each semester. (i.e., fees, requisites, variable credit, standard meeting times, sessions, course notes, attribute values).
  • Assist instructional designers and faculty with online course content updates and maintenance of materials.
  • In conjunction with Instructional Technologists, provide technical Learning Management System (LMS) administration and course support services for programs and faculty.
  • Provide technical assistance, support, and infrastructure setup for campus meetings.
  • Conduct regular collection of program outcomes data to increase organizational effectiveness and support accreditation efforts.
  • Prepare deliverables for use in planning and reporting, using appropriate tools.
  • Create queries to gather, clean, validate, merge and maintain data sets from multiple sources, ensuring the data is secure and appropriate precautions are taken to maintain privacy.

5% of the time the Education Systems Coordinator must:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to adapt to changing workplace technology.
  • Highly organized, able to work effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience providing user level support for an automated processing system and web-based applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent progressively responsible professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis, reporting, and other relevant tasks. Experience with advanced functions and formulas is highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is $47,840 annually and is commensurate with experience. Boise State University provides a best-in-class benefits package , including (but not limited to):
