Position Summary

Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the commercialization of a new, state-of-the-art technology.
- This role will be trained on the new technology and will be expected to help implement a manufacturing process and assist in training the operations/production teams on the manufacturing.
- Assist in the development and optimization of new chemical testing instrumentation, products, and formulations.
- Conduct laboratory experiments and research to evaluate product performance and stability.
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical analysis and data collection, ensuring all procedures are conducted safely and accurately.
- Record and analyze test results, maintaining detailed documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Collaborate with team members and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Support quality assurance efforts by performing validation tests on raw materials and final products.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and LaMotte’s best practices.
- Assist in the preparation of research reports, presentations, and product documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned. (Such duties may or may not be essential functions of the job.)
Qualifications/Job Requirements
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree (Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (preferred), or related field) or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a chemical laboratory setting.
- Wet chemistry laboratory experience specifically in UV-Vis, fluorescence, calibrations, turbidity and other general scientific methods.
- Must be able to prepare standard solutions for calibrations.
- Must be willing to learn new processes with the expectation of teaching the process to others in the future.
- Experience in production processes or quality processes is a plus.
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, analytical equipment, and chemical safety procedures.
- Experience with data analysis and technical reporting.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to pass a color test.
Environmental Factors/Physical/Mental Capabilities
Works indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Handles various chemicals. Requires good problem-solving, judgment, communication skills, and color perception. Requires walking, standing, sitting, good manual dexterity and transporting up to 30 pounds.
