About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager to provide support in the recording of all purchases, complex payments, settlements, and reconciliations. The role would suit an ambitious candidate who is willing to put in hard work and up for a highly demanding and challenging role. The role expects a strong commitment in a challenging environment.

You will have a minimum of 2 years direct experience of working in Finance Assistant role or similar covering all aspects of bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, payment runs etc. preferably within a FX brokerage firm.

Key responsibilities

As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Our Group accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Processing on SAP of all banking transactions and reconciliation of all accounts on a daily basis
  • Processing payment runs for all group businesses on a fortnightly basis ensuring accuracy at all times
  • Processing and checking employee expenses on a daily basis
  • Assisting the team with the month end processes for all group businesses including our Italian operation
  • Working with our Management Accountants to ensure accuracy in reporting of accrued income using our internal systems and SAP
  • Assisting with the annual statutory audit and ensuring rigorous processes are followed throughout the year to result in a positive audit outcome
  • Managing and producing statements for our partners (Introductory Brokers) and processing these payments on a quarterly basis
  • Assisting with all other administrative duties and processing documentation, being a proactive and helpful member of the small Finance team
  • Supporting our Finance Team in ensuring processes are accurately and efficiently
  • managed.

Essential experience & skills

  • A minimum of 2 years in an Accounts Assistant role
  • Experience working with SAP Business One
  • Good knowledge of accounting processes
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Understanding HMRC requirements and regulations
  • A proactive attitude to provide a high-level service to the business
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Being self-directed and motivated, with the ability to identify solutions not just problems
  • Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team
  • Being comfortable working in a fast paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Approaching your work with a positive attitude being professional and contributing to good team dynamics.
