Manager – Seafood Sourcing
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sourcing Manager – Fish & Seafood to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, supplier management, and quality assurance of seafood products. You will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, supply chain optimization, and adherence to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for fish and seafood categories.
- Identify reliable suppliers and negotiate long-term contracts.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Ensure supplier compliance with quality, sustainability, and ethical standards.
- Procurement Management:
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including pricing negotiations, volume planning, and inventory control.
- Monitor market trends to optimize procurement decisions.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure seafood products meet the company’s quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to conduct regular supplier audits.
- Cost Optimization:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Monitor and control procurement budgets effectively.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the operations, logistics, and sales teams to ensure smooth supply chain processes.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree / Masters in Fisheries.
- Proven experience in sourcing and procurement, specifically in the fish/seafood industry.
- Strong understanding of seafood market dynamics, quality standards, and sustainability practices.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems, and procurement tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently
