Ambulance dispatch officer is directly responsible of coordinating and monitoring daily Ambulance duties in accordance to SEHA policies and procedures. Intensive knowledge of all SEHA facilities and services in order to respond to all patient transport requests. and dispatch appropriate units, medical personals and resources and complete interfacility transport. Perform high communication skills to coordinate SEHA Ambulance operations.

Responsibilities

Operation

  • Coordinate and monitor SEHA ambulances daily operations.
  • Monitor and maintain daily shift logs, resources and ensure service quality is up to highest standards at all times.
  • Respond to all patient transport requests according to SEHA policies and procedures. Make all the necessary arrangement to deliver efficient and quality service in minimal time period.
  • prepare daily reports (surge capacity, locations, staff, tasks, tracking, registration, service, maintenance).
  • Report any operational issues/ accidents and prepare back ups according to Ambulance communication reference.

Communication

  • Use of computer software systems to schedule, prioritize patient transport tasks and events coverage.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of telecommunications in all ambulances, sites, IT equipment and software systems, and report any defects or malfunctions.
  • Ensure all requirements for inter-facility patient transport.
  • Provides accurate task information into computer software to ensure proper identification and safety of patient transport.
  • Perform high communication level and pass clear instructions to the ambulance crew.
  • Work in accordance with the Health & Safety legislation as outlined in SEHA interfacility transfer policy and procedure documentation
  • To observe and abide by SEHA policies and procedures for the time they are in force
  • Conduct the role in a professional, caring and compassionate manner ensuring a high level of customer and patient care is provided at all times and maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
  • To maintain the professional image SEHA Patient Transport Service.

Patient Transport record, documentation and communication

  • To be accountable of prioritize, schedule and dispatch the appropriate Ambulance and crew according to SEHA policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with facilities and ensure all required forms, information, reports and supporting documents are documented properly.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all transporting process according to SEHA, department of health,.
  • Report any operational or clinical complication according to Ambulance communication refernce. perform a proper communication between Ambulance crew and designated medical oversight and facilities.

Qualifications

Qualification :-

Special Certificate:-

Required

4 -6 years of relavent progressive experince in similar role.

Desired

Experince in interfacility transport with health care facility.
