In order to strengthen our engineering team, we are looking to hire a Powertrain Transmission Control Specialist based in Maranello (Italy).

You will be responsible for the development, integration and testing of Transmissions Control System. You will support both test-bench and in vehicle activities, define proper software (SW) strategies and calibrations and to validate (both MIL, SIL, HIL and bench/vehicle validation). You will be also in charge of monitor the Transmission Control SW behavior during vehicle debug/durability sessions in order to identify and solve issues.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

• Analize transmissions concept from a system control point of view;

• Analize the functional requirements, including the target performances and define the requirements for the control system;

• Analize components, define test specifications and execute tests for the system model identification and the system validation;

• Develop and integrate the control systems, and define the specifications, define the test cases for the SW validation;

• Test and calibrate the implemented functionalities;

• Responsible for all issues during the development process to be solved on time

• Interact with Powertrain Control & Calibration Project Team in order to plan and perform properly the development and calibration activities;

• Work in close collaboration with the other Powertrain Control & Calibration Team Specialists and also with other departments (Transmission Design, Transmission Testing, Performances, Vehicle and Quality) when needed;

• Propose improvements to hardware, software, and procedures.

Role requirements

In order to succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have achieved excellent academic results with a Master-degree in Control/Automation, Electronic, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent. You should ideally have gained at least 3 years’ dedicated experience on engine fundamentals, after treatment systems and high performance GDI engines.

Good knowledge of electronic, mechanics and control system and knowledge of MatLAB and Simulink are required for the role. Understanding of hybrid powertrain architectures, typical ECU software structures and control theory will be an asset. Availability to travel if it will be requested by the activities.

In Ferrari you must exhibit the capability to work in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment, strong communication skills and accountability are important skillset to manage activities and responsibility of the role.

It is important to be proactive proposing new solutions to optimize all the processes and activities. Fluent English is required for the position and Italian language skills are an advantage.
